Banks don’t belong at pride. Corporations don’t belong at pride. Cops don’t belong and pride. Fascists don’t belong at pride. The forces that have abused us, oppressed us, have murdered our brothers and sisters do not get to take part in pride.
When you say this do you just mean “companies shouldn’t do something like make their logo rainbow just for a cheap grab at being inclusive,” or do you mean “if you are a police officer, or a bank worker or something you aren’t allowed at pride weather they’re there outside of work or not”?
It means exactly what it says. Walmart should not have giant tents and sending representatives at pride, Wells Fargo should not have a float in a gay pride parade, fascists and right wingers in general honestly shouldn’t be there, and police officers do not belong at pride. As I already said, “The forces that have abused us, oppressed us, have murdered our brothers and sisters do not get to take part in pride.” And, for the record, a police officer and a bank worker are not the same thing. Someone who works at a bank is not representative of the place of employment, but a police officer is literally part of the state which pride was a riot against. Cops deserve a brick to the head.
I agreed with corporations not sending representatives, as it’s just them jumping on the bandwagon to get money, but what if the officer is attending outside of his job? He isn’t being paid to be there, he doesn’t have a job to fulfill, he’s just there in order to, perhaps, support people like him, assuming that he’s perhaps gay, or bi, or trans, etc, or maybe support his kid.
Cops dont belong at pride! If you have chosen to enact state sanctioned violence and oppression you dont get to come! End of story!
Heyy, so, How did you know you were nb? Because now I'm 20 an I've identified as a cisgender lesbian since 16 and idk, I've identified as a woman forever even tho I'm not like 100% feminine. But idk, lately I've had a weird thing with my gender and thought well, maybe I'm nb? But I'm not sure, I do feel quite comfortable as a woman, always have. Maybe I'm just being stupid, idk
i do not know how old this is. but you are not being stupid.
being non-binary isn’t something like…. there’s no specific feeling that means you are non-binary. i’ve actually recently discovered i’m a non-binary trans man.
basically, gender is whatever you want it to be. mix and match identities. it’s all just about how you feel and how you decide to label those feelings. some people never label those feelings, some people label them differently than others, some people never even realize that they don’t like their label. be what you feel is right. if your gender is a big hot vampire lady who lives in a tower overlooking a town and takes in young women who ran away from their fathers and need shelter from the rain, go ahead and label it as that. who’s going to stop you?
can you maybe not tag anti-autism stuff as autism/autistic? we should be working to make those tags kinder and more filled w stuff that fills the original purpose like info/discussion. no animosity though, love ur blog!
Since COVID started, I’ve seen people kick automatic door buttons to avoid using their hands. This is horrible for me, since these are high touch areas I cannot avoid.
People who can walk can elbow those buttons, but they are often too high for me (a seated person) to do that - meaning that sometimes I have no choice but to use my hands. And if the bottom of your feet has touched that button, that is negating any efforts I’m making to keep my hands clean.
Since I basically have to use my hands for everything, and many wheelchair users are in the COVID “high risk” category, this is really bad.
I would really appreciate if people used their elbows, or literally any other part of their body to press the button. Just not your feet.
